Long before electronic navigation guided vessels through the Florida Keys, safe passage depended on local knowledge, sharp eyes, and a careful lookout stationed on the bow. Every shoal, channel, and mangrove shoreline was read by experience rather than electronics.

This restored vintage illustration captures one of those everyday moments—a working launch making careful way through a Keys cut, the bow throwing a wake as the lookout scans the waters ahead, all while a pelican keeps a close watch from the shoreline.

Faithfully restored from a historic printed work, Motorboat Boys preserves the texture, color, and character of the original artwork while honoring the maritime heritage of Old Florida.
